Main One - Forgotten Child 1995-1999 (Vinyl 2LP)

 

Despite releasing a well received debut album ('Birth of the Ghetto Child') in 1995, Bronx native Main One never released a follow-up... until now. 'Forgotten Child' is an incredible collection of demos, rare tracks and remixes recorded between 1995 and 1999, mostly produced by Nick Wiz and Main One's long-term producer Tic, and includes guest appearances from O.C., Chino XL, Smoothe Da Hustler and Trigger Tha Gambler. This essential release comes in a picture cover in an edition of 300 black copies and 200 color (orange vinyl) copies. A CD version will also be dropping soon!

Young Zee - Musical Meltdown (Vinyl 2LP Reissue)

 

A long overdue vinyl re-issue of Young Zee's classic debut album 'Musical Meltdown'. Originally scheduled for release in 1996, the album features Young Zee's trademark unique flow over top-notch production from Ski, Q-Tip and KRS-One, accompanied by guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, KRS-One and the entire Outsidaz crew (Pace Won, Rah Diggah, etc.) This essential release comes (for the first time) in a picture cover in an edition of 200 black copies and 200 color (green vinyl) copies. Released in association with Dope Folks Records.

RIP John Kuester AKA Kid Millions

 

I was incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of John Kuester AKA Kid Millions. One of the co-owners of Dope Folks Records, I worked with him on many projects over the years. John was always kind, generous, supportive and, above all, mad cool. He and Dope Folks provided me with a lot of inspiration about how to run a label. I will miss him a lot.

Rest In Peace John!
