4 new CD releases!

I'm pleased to announce a grip of new CD releases on GRR.

All CDs are pressed and shipping now, available here: https://gentlemansrelief.bigcartel.com/

(Note: All titles should also be available from the usual retailers soon too.)

1. Nick Wiz - Cellar Sounds Vol. 6 [1992-2000] 2xCD
An unbelievable new 2CD compilation of music produced by the one and only Nick Wiz. Featuring 20+ previously unreleased 90s recordings plus a slew of tracks that were previously only available on vinyl or tape and have been freshly transferred from DATs and reels for this release. Featuring Shabaam Sahdeeq, Pudgee, Ran Reed, Shadowz In Da Dark and many more! Limited to 400 copies.

2. Omniscence - The Lost Tapes [1994-1998] CD
An incredible collection of 20 rare and previously unheard recordings from the Funky One Liner from North Carolina. Includes tracks that were scrapped from the Raw Factor as well as joints recorded before and after the Raw Factor sessions. Note: the sound quality on a couple of these demos was a bit rough, but we have restored and remastered everything as good as possible - check out the snippets. Limited to 400 copies.

3. Ran Reed - Respect the Architect [1992-1998] CD Reissue
The recent vinyl reissue of this classic album from NJ's Ran Reed sold out with the quickness, so here's a CD reissue by popular demand. If you missed the original 2012 release, don't sleep this time around. Limited to 400 copies.

4. Omniscence - The God Hour CD Reissue
The original CD release of Omniscence's 2nd album sold out fast as a UGHH.com exclusive back in 2015 so we're back with a CD reissue for those who missed it the first time around. Featuring Omniscence's trademark flow and entirely produced by Debonair P. Unlike the original 2CD digipak release, this reissue is on 1 CD in a jewel case, featuring all 11 original tracks + 11 remix versions. Limited to 250 copies.

Ran Reed - Respect The Architect 2LP (Reissue)

Tons of people have asked us about reissuing Ran Reed's classic 'Respect the Architect' on vinyl over the years, as the original pressing sold out super quick more than 10 years ago. I'm pleased to announce this is now a reality and will be dropping in mid-September! The pressing is 500 copies total: 300 on black wax and 200 on color vinyl (1 disc clear blue / 1 disc clear orange).

Pre-order now to avoid disappointment!

Other retailers will include:

Hip-Hop Enterprise (Europe)
If you're in Australia and want to buy a copy, please email me and I'll reserve one for you (no need to send any money until I get the records here).

To answer a couple of questions you might have...
What are the differences between the reissue and the original pressing?
This pressing features the same tracklist as the original vinyl release and was sourced from the same audio masters. However, it has been newly cut for vinyl by Pallas in Germany who have pressed all GRR releases since 2016 - the test pressings sound really good. Other than that, there are some very minor artwork changes and the jacket has a 5mm spine (instead of 3mm on the original version). This release also includes a color vinyl option which wasn't available on the original pressing.

Will there be a CD reissue?
Yes, this is currently in the works and will hopefully be ready in the next couple of months. I'll send out an email when it's ready.

Nick Wiz - Cellar Sounds Vol 1+2+3 CD Reissues

Originally released between 2008-2011 and now super hard-to-find, Cellar Sounds vol. 1-3 revealed Nick Wiz's incredible archives of mid-90s hip hop. Featuring well-known names like Rakim, Cella Dwellas alongside underrated artists like Ran Reed, Shadowz in da Dark, Nautilus and many more, these three 2CDs provide an amazing soundtrack to the NJ/NY hip hop scene circa 1992-98.

In collaboration with Nick Wiz and No Sleep Recordings, CD reissues of Cellar Sounds vols 1-3 are out now! Whether you want to update your old copies, fill in holes in your wantlist or are just recently discovering Nick's catalog, you may not want to sleep on this. A bundle of all three 2CDs is available featuring a bonus megamix CD of tracks taken from the whole Cellar series.

GRR Closing - Thanks for your support

After 15 years of releasing music, Gentleman’s Relief Records (GRR) is closing this month. The label has been a huge part of my life since 2006 and I’m really happy with everything it accomplished - it’s now time to focus on some other things.

Thank you all very much for your incredible support, which has enabled the label to continue and grow. I really appreciate it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know so many passionate fans of the music over the years.

Once again, thank you for everything. I hope you’re able to continue enjoying the music released on GRR!
