Debonair P - Debonair Blends 9 Megamix (2012)
Thanks a lot to everyone who copped the Polarity & Lex LP we released in January - the response and feedback on that one was unexpected and overwhelming with the release selling out within about 12 hours. For those who missed the vinyl, there should be a very limited CD version out soon.
While there is a new GRR vinyl release just around the corner, here is a megamix I put together last year. This one focusses on the 97-99 period. I can't front, it's not my favourite era in hip hop as it was when a lot of artists really fell off the rails (and a lot of production from '99 onwards has dated pretty badly), but there was some interesting music coming out. I tried to capture on this mix a lot of the stuff I was listening to at the time as well as a few records I only came across years after the fact. Hopefully there is something new here for everyone. Polarity (Debonair P) + LEX = Hennessy & 76th LP (Very Limited Vinyl)
Way back in 2005 I sent a beat CD to a talented MC from Queens NY named LEX. Over the following few years I spent thousands of hours on the songs we recorded for an album called 'Hennessy and 76th' (the street names we lived on in Melbourne and NY at the time.) While the album was finished in 2009, I am really happy to finally be making this material available to the public on wax.
As usual, I produced, mixed and did the cuts on all 10 tracks on the record. Lex handles all the mic duties - you can preview all 10 tracks below:
The vinyl release features 10 tracks and comes on clear wax in a sticker sleeve. With only 100 copies pressed, this is my most limited vinyl release yet! In order to reduce postage costs for folks overseas (especially for those customers who buy more than 1 copy), I have a small quantity of this release shipping directly from the USA. The record is priced at $20 for 1 copy or $36 for 2 copies.
Outside Australia, please purchase here: http://hennessyand76th.bigcartel.com
Inside Australia, please purchase here: http://gentlemansrelief.bigcartel.com
All orders come with a free digital version of the album (including a few bonus tracks not on the wax.) International orders are in stock and ship this weekend - Australian orders will ship in about 1-2 weeks once copies are received here in Melbourne (I will send a notification when the records are posted).
Many thanks to those who listen to and/or support this release. Lex has an album coming out in a few months called 'How About Some Hardcore' featuring a whole host of Queens heavy hitters (I did cuts on a couple tracks too.) I also have more than a couple vinyl releases coming out this year so I'll keep you updated.
Thanks!

OMNISCENCE - Raw Factor 2.0 (Vinyl)
Hopefully some of you are familiar with North Carolina MC
Omniscence – be it for his debut on the classic compilation ‘Back to the Lab’
(recently reissued by Dope Folks Records), his impossible-to-find debut EP ‘The
Funky One Liner’, or his excellent singles on EastWest/Elektra ‘Amazin’
(awarded 'Hip Hop Quotable' in the Source October 1995) and ‘Touch Y’all’ (1996). Despite recording a full-length debut
entitled The Raw Factor for EastWest,
the record never came out and even now remains mostly unheard.
Fast forward to 2012, and I am really pleased to be involved
in releasing Omniscence’s first new vinyl release since way back in 1996. Entitled Raw Factor 2.0, the new single finds
Omniscence picking up where he left off - kicking flavourful verses with his
distinctive voice intact. I produced,
mixed and provided cuts on the track (and the remix version on the flip), and
am also self-releasing the record on limited 7” vinyl. Preview both versions of the track above...
The wax is limited to 300 copies – 150 copies on white vinyl
and 150 copies on transparent blue vinyl.
The record comes in a full-colour picture sleeve (the record is in a
paper inner sleeve within the cover, and the whole thing is in a plastic dust
jacket for extra protection.)
This is NOT a pre-order: the records are in my hands and
will be posted to you from Melbourne within 24 hours of receiving your order –
please purchase from the store:
Prices are as follows:
1 copy (your choice of colour, blue or white): $13 (+$6
postage worldwide / $3 within Australia)
2 copies (1x blue, 1x white): $23 (+$8 postage worldwide /
$4 within Australia.)
If you have any special requests please just leave me a note when you checkout. I send all records as gifts so
that international customers should not need to pay customs.
EVERY order comes with a FREE digital version of the
release, including instrumental versions for both songs (these aren’t on the
vinyl.) While stocks last, every double pack comes with a free Debonair Blends mix CD.
I
hope you enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed working on it. Naturally, extra props to Omniscence for being involved in the project. As always, thanks for listening!FOR THOSE WITHOUT TURNTABLES: PURCHASE THE DIGITAL SINGLE HERE

Debonair P - Debonair Blends 7 Megamix (2011)
First up, thanks everyone who picked up the Global Platoon 'G8 Summit' EP, all the feedback I've received on this release has been great! It's been a while since I posted up a megamix... as a challenge to myself, I tried my hand at making a mix using only tracks from 2000 onward (well, there are a couple of joints from '99.) A lot of the tracks on this megamix are personal faves from the past years, often overlooked, so hopefully you hear something new on this one.

[S2S016] - Global Platoon 'G8 Summit' (Vinyl / Tape) - OUT NOW
This is a heads up that I have a new release available on
wax and cassette. The ‘G8 Summit’ EP
features the Baltimore crew Global Platoon, consisting of M.I. (Constant
Deviants), Fla Fla (Sparrow the Movement), Steve Colossal, Bosch, Supreme and
Rome – in addition to dropping 2 excellent singles as a group in 1997
(‘Crew Family b/w Keep Your Day Job’ and ‘Streets of Gold’), individually they
are responsible for a bunch of essential independent records from the mid-90's era - you can check many of these out at the end of this post.
‘G8 Summit’ is available now on purple vinyl with a sticker cover
(featuring 8 tracks, limited to 300 copies) and purple cassette (featuring 16
(!) tracks, extremely limited to only 75 copies.) I produced and mixed all songs, in addition
to providing all the cuts. You can
preview several tracks below:
Here are the ordering details for the release:
Outside Australia: Please order directly from Six2Six Records in Baltimore, as they can ship cheaper to most places than I can, especially if you are buying a few items. They have a small quantity of my previous release with M.I. ‘The Allnighter’ EP and some excellent archive releases from underrated Baltimore groups like WolfeDOM Nation, New Testament and SCU. You can buy all this good stuff here: http://six2sixrecords.bandcamp.com/track/g8-summit-ep-preview-mixed-by-debonair-p
In Australia: I have a small number of copies on wax,
and an even smaller quantity on cassette – I’m sold out of my previous records
on Six2Six so don’t sleep. Buy them both
from the Gentleman’s Relief store here: http://gentlemansrelief.bigcartel.com
