Polarity & Lex - Hennessy & 76th (CD!)

Firstly, thanks to everyone who already picked up the Omniscence 'Sharp Objects' EP that came out the other week - really been overwhelmed by the support people have shown!

Earlier this year I released the 'Hennessy & 76th' LP which I recorded with Queens MC LEX between around 2005 and 2008.  The vinyl sold out in something like 12 hours - crazy!  Lex has just released a CD version of the album which also includes a few bonus tracks we couldn't fit onto the vinyl.  To purchase the CD directly from Lex, please head: HERE

OMNISCENCE - Sharp Objects EP + Instrumental EP + Cassette!

I'm excited to announce the release of the new EP from North Carolina's Omniscence!  I'm sure you are all familiar with Omniscence from his 90's releases such as the Funky One Liner EP, the singles 'Touch Y'all' and 'Amazin', and his long-unreleased album 'The Raw Factor' which is finally seeing the light of day thanks to Dope Folks.  This new EP release picks up from the 'Raw Factor 2.0' 7" single that I produced and released last year with Omni. There are a couple of versions of the record available including, different colours of vinyl, a limited edition instrumental record and an even more limited gold cassette, see the details below.  Everything is pressed and in stock, and will ship to you from the US over the next week or so.

Sharp Objects Vinyl EP (10 vocal tracks)

Sharp Objects features 10 vocal tracks (including several remixes) of new Omniscence material and is produced and mixed by me.  This release comes in a picture cover and is limited to 300 copies – 150 on clear purple vinyl and 150 on blue swirl vinyl.  The price is $24 for 1 copy or $44 for doubles (one copy of each colour.)  Listen to the snippets below...

Sharp Objects INSTRUMENTAL EP (14 instrumentals + 2 bonus remixes)

Several people have asked me about doing instrumental versions of my releases so I decided to do a super limited instrumental version of this one.  Featuring 14 abridged instrumentals (including instrumentals from the Raw Factor 2.0 single) plus 2 bonus remixes that we couldn't fit on the main record, this release is limited to 150 copies on black vinyl.  It comes in a picture cover (same cover design as the vocal EP).  The price is $24.  Listen to the snippets below...

Sharp Objects GOLD CASSETTE (12 Vocal Tracks + 12 Instrumentals)

The tape version of Sharp Objects features all 12 vocal tracks from the 2 vinyl records and 12 unabridged instrumentals.  90 minutes of flavour on a gold cassette.  The tapes are limited to 50 copies and are $15.

Regardless of what you buy, every physical product order comes with a free download of the digital versions of the vocal and instrumental releases.  You will receive an order confirmation email from BigCartel after you order which contains the download link.

Orders will be shipped out over the next week.  I now ship the majority of my releases from the US to help keep the shipping costs lower than if I were to send orders from Australia.  I have found the US post to be a bit slow to some countries, so please be patient but don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a question regarding your order.  We send all packages as gifts with a low value ($5-$10) – however, some packages still seem to get stuck at customs when sending to Germany.  If you would like your package sent insured, with tracking or anything else out of the ordinary please just email me to organise this.

I have another new release shipping very soon: Fla Fla’s “Timeless” EP on Six2Six Records.  Fla is the MC half of the group Sparrow who released indie classics such as 'Rhyme Impotence', 'Inheritence' and 'Physics' in the 90’s; he also appeared on several tracks off the Global Platoon EP I produced last year.  I produced, mixed and provided cuts on all 10 tracks on this new release which is limited to 300 copies (150 on clear red vinyl / 150 on clear green vinyl.)

The 'Timeless' EP is one of 3 records that Six2Six Records is releasing as part of Record Store Day 2013.  The other two records are the Constant Deviants 'It's OK' 12" (including a remix produced by me) and Marco Polo's 'The Green' EP which was originally meant to be released by the ill-fated Goodfelons label.  I definitely recommend copping all 3!

Nick Wiz - Cellar Selections 2LP (1993-1997) [GRR008]

I'm excited to announce the latest vinyl release on GRR: Nick Wiz's "Cellar Selections 2" 2LP.  Hopefully most of you would familiar with Nick Wiz for his extensive and consistently dope 90's work with artists including the Cella Dwellas, Rakim, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Ran Reed, Chubb Rock etc.  Over the past couple of years, No Sleep Recordings has released three double CD's from Nick's archives containing material that had, for the most part, never been heard before.  While a 2LP containing some of these songs ("Cellar Selections 1") was released back in 2010, no further vinyl instalments seemed to be forthcoming.  Fortunately, I recently connected with No Sleep to make another 2LP release possible, containing 20 tracks taken primarily from the 1993 - 1997 period, containing songs from luminaries such as Cella Dwellas, Rakim, Pudgee, Ran Reed, Shadowz in da Dark and Emskee alongside underground favourites such as Hardwe're, Ill Mentality, Imperial, Native Assassins and more.  This is the first time that any of these songs have been on wax.

This record is limited to 250 copies on 2LP black vinyl with a sticker cover.  The price is $40 + postage for 1 copy or $75 + postage for 2 copies.  This isn't a pre-order - the records are pressed and are ready to be shipped to you from the US.

Debonair P - Debonair Blends 9 Megamix (2012)

Thanks a lot to everyone who copped the Polarity & Lex LP we released in January - the response and feedback on that one was unexpected and overwhelming with the release selling out within about 12 hours.  For those who missed the vinyl, there should be a very limited CD version out soon.

While there is a new GRR vinyl release just around the corner, here is a megamix I put together last year.  This one focusses on the 97-99 period.  I can't front, it's not my favourite era in hip hop as it was when a lot of artists really fell off the rails (and a lot of production from '99 onwards has dated pretty badly), but there was some interesting music coming out.  I tried to capture on this mix a lot of the stuff I was listening to at the time as well as a few records I only came across years after the fact.  Hopefully there is something new here for everyone.  Get the download link and tracklist after the jump...

Polarity (Debonair P) + LEX = Hennessy & 76th LP (Very Limited Vinyl)

Way back in 2005 I sent a beat CD to a talented MC from Queens NY named LEX.  Over the following few years I spent thousands of hours on the songs we recorded for an album called 'Hennessy and 76th' (the street names we lived on in Melbourne and NY at the time.)  While the album was finished in 2009, I am really happy to finally be making this material available to the public on wax.

As usual, I produced, mixed and did the cuts on all 10 tracks on the record.  Lex handles all the mic duties - you can preview all 10 tracks below:

The vinyl release features 10 tracks and comes on clear wax in a sticker sleeve.  With only 100 copies pressed, this is my most limited vinyl release yet!  In order to reduce postage costs for folks overseas (especially for those customers who buy more than 1 copy), I have a small quantity of this release shipping directly from the USA.  The record is priced at $20 for 1 copy or $36 for 2 copies.
